From the magnanimous Himalayas to the stunning landscapes and ancient history carved on stones, everything in Uttarakhand has a story attached to it. It is this untold story that lures visitors from India and around the world. The age-old Hindu traditions have always accorded highest esteem to the glory of the Himalayas which are spontaneously assumed to be the chosen consecrated residences of Gods. Today, the world is turning to Yoga, but Uttarakhand has been a home for Yogi’s for thousands of years! In 2018, the state will host the International Yoga Festival for all the peace seekers of the world.

The increase in the inflow of tourists from 101.97 thousand in 2014 to 105.88 thousand in 2015, variety of rare species of medicinal plants and a forest cover of 68.4% are the primary factors responsible for thriving tourism here.
