KQF, the British halal food manufacturer, has announced the launch of its new Wild Coast range of halal biltong, which is available in three varieties.
Its Beef Biltong is available in two flavours: chilli or salt and pepper. Made with 100% British and Irish beef, the product is subject to minimal processing; it is simply marinated, air-dried and sliced.
The other variety is Chicken Biltong, which is available in chilli flavour. Like the Beef Biltong, it has a high protein content and is low in sugar. It contains less than 2% fat.
In all cases, the products are gluten-free and made with high quality ingredients that are certified by the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC.) They are manufactured under a quality assurance system that has achieved a ‘Grade AA’ rating under the British Retail Consortium standard for food.
“We developed Wild Coast Biltong as a simple protein snack for more health-conscious consumers,” explains KQF managing director Faruk Vali. “It’s sold ready to eat in re-sealable 50g packs, and it doesn’t need to be kept refrigerated. That makes it a convenient choice for people who enjoy sports, travelling and outdoor pursuits, or for anyone who just wants a tasty, guilt-free snack that will keep them feeling full.”
Wild Coast Biltong is the latest addition to KQF’s Protein+ range of high-protein convenience foods. The range will develop to include sausages and oven-ready snacks, all with reduced fat and sugar content.
