I was in pakistan last week and i couldn’t help but visit some of the most iconic landmarks of Pakistan. Lahore is certainly the place to be when exploring the wonders and food of Pakistan.
The Badshahi Mosque is a Mugal era Masjid in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan. The mosque is located west of Lahore Fort along the walled city of Lahore. The Masjid is Lahore’s most iconic landmarks and it’s view is breathtakingly beautiful.
The Badshahi Masjid was built by Emperor Aurangzeb in 1671, with construction of the masjid lasting for two years until 1673. The masjid is an important example of Mughal architecture, with an exterior that is decorated with carved red sandstone and marble inlay.
It still remains as the largest masjid of the Mughal-era, and is now the second largest masjid in Pakistan.
After the fall of the Mughal Empire, the masjid was then used as a garrison by the Sikh and British Empire and is now one of Pakistan’s most iconic sights.
